Paul Torrie

Paul Torrie is the founder and president of Global Resolutions, a nationally
recognised mediation and arbitration firm. Paul is one of the pioneers in
alternative dispute resolution in Canada and is a leading expert in the field.

Paul has mediated complex mass torts, real estate, commercial, insurance
and shareholder disputes. He has mediated numerous class actions involving
consumer products, medical devices, insurance policies, financial
services, business interruption and property loss. Paul has also been
appointed by government to mediate complex multiparty land use
disputes.

Since 1987, Paul has successfully chaired a full range of cases concerning:

Law Society of Upper Canada. He has also written extensively on mediation
technique and ethics.

Paul graduated from McGill University, Montreal, with an Honours Degree in 1976. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, in 1980 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1982.
